I spent 2020 writing and releasing songs in a near frenzy. 2021 was spent in a frenzy of trying to book gigs and meet people. However, I did write some songs along the way and those songs became this album.

Although the songs were written sporadically and not in one-big-push like my earlier ones, they mostly hang together as songs about the albums namesake. Lovable losers. People who for one reason or another are having a hard go of it. Failure and defeat and bitterness and resentment are all over it (all over all my albums really).

Genre-wise, these songs are much more folk-country than some of my earlier work.

Unlike my earlier, self-recorded work, all of these songs were recorded, mixed and mastered by Nate Goyette, a dear friend and a great songwriter and musician in his own right.

We banged them out in two sessions at his house. Beer was drank, Youtube was watched and a lot of Cheese-Its were consumed.
